A humorous tale unfolds when an old man with only his imagination to keep him moving
tracks down Sixteenth Century ancestors in Merry Ol’ England and acrimonious Ulster

Someone once said ‘why do you want to be what you are not?’ This undertaking was
meant to be a memoir with some tweaking, so I must identify that someone as my first
wife of some fifty years ago, currently not speaking to me. But her long ago words
still speak to me. Then I felt it was a rude question that should not be answered,
now I can give it a penetrating answer. The answer was and is, being what I was
not was preferable to being what I was.
